Cleaning or Gardening?

We have family coming to visit both this weekend and next followed by an old friend. I have put off cleaning for as long as I can, so that is my task today. Since there is really not much of a story line or photos I'd want to share on the topic of cleaning I'm going to leave you today with some images of the flowers, herbs and a nice zucchini from my gardens.
My herb garden with Tia keeping out the rabbit.

Batchelor buttons, one of my favorites

Zinnias from seeds my friend Joan gave me.

Pumpkin blossoms! I'm hoping for 23 pumpkins!

We found this rose in the front buried between ferns getting no sun. We moved it and were gifted with five beautiful flowers.

Last but not least, tonights dinner!

Susan, your garden is so lush and colorful! Lucky you; I live in a browner climate, So. Cal. Thanks by the way for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment about the Shiva vest. I'm going to try those pickles, too. Farther down in my blog is a link to a recipe for preserved lemons; can you grow lemons up there?
Hugs,

I was totally impressed with your lovely garden. Mine is starting to turn brown and ugly.

I wanted to thank you for your lovely comment which reminded me that you are right. Most paste paper tutorials involve cooking and straining. I'm a low tech kind of gal, always looking for the easy way out. Thanks for this. I'm going to include your comment on Monday's post (another paste paper) and make you my blog of the day. Thanks for being a real inspiration just by leaving a comment and for having such a great blog.

Your post today is such a beautiful read...there is something about walking through a garden...a quiet place of serenity and growth. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Oooh, I am gonna try to make the pickle recipe you have written up here, my mum has been growing cucumbers here this year and they have turned out well, last year our tomatos didn't go red so we had tonnes of green tomato chutney made up with them instead, isn't it funny how you say zucchini and we say courgette, same veg but different sides of the ocean ;o)
Best wishes.

What a beautiful garden!!! I'm so excited this year to be gardening, even though I am not expecting much produce... I am planning though to do better again next year and your pictures are inspiring.

I totally agree that there is no way one can take photos of cleaning that is in any way appealing. I'd much rather post flower and veggie pictures. I love your bachelor buttons and zinnias and it is so much fun to me to grow the zinnias from saved seeds whether from my own or ones that were gifted to me from friends. That zucchini looks like it will be a good supper.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the blogsphere and leaving a comment. That's how I get to know more blogging friends.
